This small species from San Luis Potosí, Mexico  was sometimes called Tillandsia utriculata subs. pringliei. It makes numerous offsets long before it blooms.It produces creamy/white petals.

Habitat: saxicolous on limestone rock or occasionally as an epiphyte in areas of deciduous forest, oak or pine-oak, 450-2000 m. Elev.
