This is one of the grey-leafed Tillandsia/Vriesea species which appear to be closely related to Vriesea.  From Columbia, it grows in thick rainforests.  Found in Columbia, Bolivia, Ecuador and Venezuela at elevations of 400 - 2400 meters.  The gray narrow upright leaves will produce an erect inflorescence with arching branches which are pale petals are pale rose colored.
