This medium-small size species is similar to Tillandsia aeranthos, but with stiff reddish leaves in an open rosette. The inflorescence produces pink floral bracts with white tips, and blue petals on a lax spike.  Native to Rio Grande do Sul state of Brazil it is easy to grow and easily forms a clump.
