There are many forms of Tillandsia complanata. The ones from Ecuador are large plants with nice reddish coloration in the foliage and some with stripes in the foliage.  This one is a smaller form and is from Peru. It has green foliage, but unlike the Ecuadorian forms, it  will produce pups. The other forms do not pup. All Tillandsia complanata have inflorescences which emerge laterally from the base of the plant instead of the center of the plant. They also do not die after blooming, but can re-bloom every 1-3 years.The petals are rose-colored.
