A dramatic, pendant Vriesea with a long red bloom spike, similar in shape to Vriesea simplex. This group of Vriesea agostiniana has particularly dark foliage which is burgundy towards the center of the plant as well as on the underside of the leaves. 

This is an incredible species that is seldom seen and even less frequently available.
