This species is found growing on the western coastal regions of Peru.  It's semi-succulent leaves grow at right angles, stacking up the caulescent stem. When looking down from the top of the plant, the leaves form a star shape. The bloom is purple and produces a spicy fragrance.  Easy to grow and makes numerous pups.

This clone, "Shooting Star select" has a dark purple spike, dark purple petals with a white center.
